ABOUT US
Our Story...
We’re Kristin and Kailyn, the mother daughter team behind Ryden Retrievers. Along with our family, we raise our Golden Retrievers in our homes from the time they are puppies through adulthood, making them a true part of our everyday lives. Our love for the breed started years ago with our first Golden, Thor. He quickly became the heart of our home with his calm, affectionate personality and easygoing nature. After bringing him home, we learned he carried Ichthyosis. While it didn’t affect him, it pushed us to educate ourselves on breed specific genetic health and make more responsible decisions, including having him neutered. That experience is what shaped our program. It gave us a strong passion for raising Golden Retrievers the right way, with a focus on improving health, structure, and temperament for future generations. All of our dogs are AKC registered, Embark DNA tested, and fully health tested with OFA clearances. Our puppies are raised hands on from the very beginning, with constant love, attention, and early socialization. We incorporate Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and follow Puppy Culture practices to help set them up for success as confident, well adjusted companions. We truly love what we do and feel so grateful to share our puppies with families who will love them just as much as we do. For more information on each of our dogs, please visit the “Our Dogs” page.

Our APPROACH...
Ryden Retrievers is a small, purpose driven breeding program focused on producing Golden Retrievers with strong temperaments, correct structure, and long term health. All of our puppies are born and raised inside our home, never in a kennel setting. From day one, they are handled daily and raised in a real household environment. We incorporate Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), begin potty training early, and introduce them to everyday sights, sounds, and routines to help build confidence and adaptability. Each litter is carefully planned with intention and is never repeated on a fixed schedule. We select pairings based on temperament, health testing, structure, and overall compatibility. We also take the time to study pedigrees across multiple generations and avoid close lineage overlap to promote long term health in our lines. Our goal is to raise well rounded dogs that transition easily into family life, dogs that are stable, people focused, and eager to connect with their owners.

OUR COMMITMENT
At Ryden Retrievers, our commitment to every dog we raise extends far beyond the day they go home. They are our responsibility for life. Our retired females are never rehomed. They remain part of our family. If a dog we have bred ever needs a new home at any point, they are always welcomed back to us. We do not ship puppies. We believe placement should be a thoughtful and personal process to ensure the right fit for both the puppy and the family. For out of area families, we are happy to meet at our local airport for puppy pickup.
Our Fosters...
Our love for animals doesn't stop there! We are frequent visitors at a few of our local shelters and rescue organizations and often bring home dogs to foster. Whether just a doggy day out, pajama pawty, or taking in pregnant mommas, whelping the pups, raising them, and seeing them all get adopted. Check out a few of our sweet foster pups and of course, our foster fails! Yep, sometimes it's just too hard to let certain dogs go, and we knew they just needed to be a part of our family.
